Currently, weather conditions across the country are forming under the influence of complex synoptic processes.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Gulnara Abbasova, Deputy Head of the National Hydrometeorology Service.

"Starting from the evening hours of February 3, cold air masses of Arctic and Siberian origin entering the country's territory from the northwest direction have caused a sharp drop in temperature and an increase in wind speed. At the same time, under the influence of a humid Mediterranean cyclone, cloudiness has increased, and rain, in some places sleet, and snowfall are observed. As a result of the interaction of air masses with different characteristics, the pressure gradient in the atmosphere has risen, and instability is observed. For this reason, across the country, especially on the Absheron Peninsula, a strong northwest wind is blowing, and blizzards are observed. Currently, the maximum wind speed in Baku and on the Absheron Peninsula reaches 28 m/s”, - Gulnara Abbasova stated.

According to her, the observed windy weather conditions are expected to continue until the morning of February 5. On the night of February 4 to 5, in some areas of the Absheron Peninsula, due to the drop in the minimum air temperature from 0 degrees to minus 2 degrees, there is a possibility of some roads freezing. At the same time, intense precipitation will continue in the regions, and roads will freeze, mainly in mountainous and foothill areas.
