Entry to Europe will be subject to a fee for Ukrainians

5 February 2026, 13:34

A fee for entry to Europe will be introduced for Ukrainians, as the new visa-free travel system (ETIAS) will be launched from late 2026.

Modern.az reports that this information has been published on the system's website.

It was noted that ETIAS is not a visa, but another step to verify the identity of foreigners and the purpose of their travels. Although the implementation of this entry authorization was initially planned for 2016, it has been postponed for various reasons. An online application can be submitted for ETIAS, and a fee of 20 euros per person will be required.

The authorization will be valid for three years and will allow Ukrainians to stay for 90 days in 30 European countries.

The current visa-free entry regime to the European Union for Ukrainians will remain in force until the end of 2026.
