Russia is ready to discuss with Yerevan the parameters of Moscow's possible participation in the TRIPP project (Zangezur corridor – ed.).
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin in a statement to "Izvestiya".
“We have maintained our position regarding the "Trump Road" project. The details of the Armenia-America initiative are yet to be studied. We are ready for consultations with our partners in Yerevan to discuss both the parameters and Russia's possible participation in one form or another," the diplomat stated.
Galuzin recalled that Armenia's railway network is managed by a subsidiary of Russian Railways until 2038, the country uses the Russian railway, and Russian border guards are stationed on the border with Iran.
"Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union should also be taken into account. Under these circumstances, it is clear that our partners will not be able to do without Russia," the deputy minister emphasized.
Galuzin also noted that significant progress has been made in opening communications in the region at the level of deputy prime ministers within the framework of the Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan trilateral format.
