The criminal case related to Ramiz Mehdiyev, former head of the Presidential Administration and former president of ANAS, continues to remain in the public's focus.

According to the materials presented by the investigative bodies, numerous factual pieces of evidence have been collected regarding Ramiz Mehdiyev's actions aimed at the violent seizure of power and the violent alteration of the state's constitutional order.

In the information provided by the State Security Service (SSS), it is emphasized that the ex-official legalized over 17 million manats obtained through criminal means.

It should be noted that Ramiz Mehdiyev and his close relatives had also come to public attention with their extensive collections of luxury cars. Various sources reported that the 'grey cardinal' possessed an extensive collection of cars including 'BMW', 'Mercedes-Maybach', 'Rolls-Royce', 'Bentley', 'Bentayga', etc. brands. It was claimed that the total value of the car fleet belonging to Ramiz Mehdiyev and his relatives amounted to several million manats.

If the charges brought are confirmed by a court decision, can Ramiz Mehdiyev's assets, including his luxury car collection, be confiscated?

Lawyer Babek Hamidov, commenting on the matter to Modern.az, stated that the final decision regarding whether a person's property was acquired legally or illegally is made by the court.

According to him, if an inconsistency is identified between a person's income and their property during the court investigation, a decision regarding the confiscation of that property may be issued.

We attempted to contact lawyer Zaur Abiyev, who defends Ramiz Mehdiyev's rights based on a state appointment, regarding the topic. However, the lawyer stated that he could not comment on the matter due to health problems.
