The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a special statement in response to the resolutions of the European Parliament.
Modern.az reports that the statement emphasizes that Europe ignores Turkey's significant role in restoring stability in Syria. The Ministry called on the European Parliament to recognize the realities on the ground and to make more serious efforts to understand the true expectations of Syrians.
At the same time, the statement noted that claims regarding the targeted expulsion of foreign journalists and Christians from Turkey have no basis in fact. It was stated that no foreign institution has the authority to interfere with the judicial procedures conducted in Turkey.
The Ministry issued a stern warning to the European Parliament, stating that the decisions contradict efforts to develop Turkey–EU relations: “Do not be an instrument for initiatives directed against the country and do not interfere in internal affairs!”
At the end of the statement, the importance of taking constructive steps to strengthen relations between the parties was emphasized. (Anadolu Agency)
