Significant changes have been recorded in the gold reserves of Central Banks worldwide during the period covering 2020-2025.
Modern.az reports, citing “World of Statistics”, that during this period, Azerbaijan ranks 6th in the list of countries that increased gold purchases the most.
According to statistics, the country that purchased the most gold was China. China increased its gold reserves by 357.1 tons in the last five years. In second place was Poland with an increase of 314.6 tons, and in third place was Turkey with 251.8 tons.
According to the information, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, by increasing its gold reserves by 83.6 tons during 2020-2025, ranked 6th among the countries that purchased the most gold.
In addition to the aforementioned countries, the list also includes India (+245.3 tons), Brazil (+105.1 tons), Japan (+80.8 tons), Thailand (+80.6 tons), Hungary (+78.5 tons), Singapore (+77.3 tons), Iraq (+74.6 tons), Qatar (+73.0 tons), Czech Republic (+62.8 tons), Russia (+55.4 tons), and United Arab Emirates (+51.7 tons), which were among the top 15 countries that increased Central Bank gold reserves in 2020–2025.
