Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a press conference for the first time after the start of the war with Iran.
According to Modern.az, he stated that after the joint strikes by the US and Israel, which have been ongoing for approximately two weeks, Iran “is no longer the same Iran”.
Netanyahu noted that as a result of the attacks, severe blows were dealt to Iran's elite military forces. According to him, the operations weakened Tehran's military potential and affected the situation in the region.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that he speaks with US President Donald Trump almost every day and that there is open and direct communication between the two leaders.
In his speech, Netanyahu stated that Israel could create conditions for regime change within Iran, but its realization depends on the Iranian people taking to the streets.
He refused to disclose a concrete plan regarding possible steps concerning Iran's new supreme religious leader Mojtaba Khamenei and “Hezbollah” leader Naim Qassem.
“I will not make statements that would provide life insurance to the leaders of these terrorist organizations. I do not intend to give a concrete message about what we are planning or what we will do,” Netanyahu stated.
The Israeli government also cites preventing the transfer of Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs to underground facilities as one of its main objectives.
