“It is a great torment for me to respond to journalists and websites who have seen nothing but good from me, but who, by the order, instruction, and fatwa of Ramiz Mehdiyev, have made me and my family unhappy, destroyed our unity, and ruined the future of my children. What will you ask me? What?”
Modern.az reports that these remarks were made by former MP Gülər Əhmədova in response to questions about her relations with academician Ramiz Mehdiyev.
She said:
“To deny the slander and defamation you wrote day and night by order of this man? Do you expect me to change and become a political chameleon because you have forgotten my years of work, my tireless efforts at the Republican Children's Organization, at the "Mərkəz" newspaper, and as a Member of Parliament, and have, by the order of this political crocodile, created an image of me as dishonorable, immoral, a murderer, a thief, a swindler? You are mistaken, you are wrong!”
G. Əhmədova also spoke about where she first criticized Ramiz Mehdiyev:
“I first criticized Ramiz Mehdiyev at the Second Youth Forum. The late National Leader, Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, and 2000 forum participants were present at that forum. A dead silence reigned in the hall precisely because I made a "dangerous" speech. When I finished my speech, after 1-2 seconds, the late National Leader and Mr. President, who was young at the time, applauded, and the hall was filled with applause. Later, in 2001, when they wanted to remove us from the headquarters of the Republican Children's Organization, I met with Mr. President Ilham Aliyev and told him many things. There is even more... But there is no need for these conversations now.”
The former MP addressed the journalists who called her, stating:
“Dear journalists, ladies and gentlemen! Do not make calls to me. Do not trouble those young people. Refresh your memory. You know very well what Ramiz Mehdiyev made me and my family go through. Just write about those things. Recall the slander and defamation you wrote at the time under his fatwa.
There is no need for me to introduce this Political Crocodile who left Sirus Tabrizli, Alqış Musayev, Musa Musayev, me - Gülər Əhmədova, and many other true Aliyev supporters jobless, destroyed their political careers, caused them to waste away and die, and made them ill.
Go and ask for opinions from those who are sometimes in power, sometimes in opposition, who flutter around him like moths, and who now walk around with a "I've eaten shit" spoon in their hand.
