The main strength of a nation lies in its people.
People are the mirror of a nation.
In that mirror, you can see who shines, who darkens, who preserves their image, and who sells it.
Since the 1990s, we have seen many people.
Those who change themselves, change their words, change their direction, change their color, and even change their gender.
We saw and moved on. We said, “It's their business.”
Because humans are changeable, but woe to the day when conscience changes.
Yes, then we saw that some shout more to justify their change.
They speak of honesty, but there is no sign of the letter 'h' of honesty in them; their actions are treachery.
They speak of loyalty, but every morning they wake up in the embrace of flattery, in the bed of hypocrisy.
Shouting voices rise, and within them, the stench of their lies is felt.
Then we also saw that there are people who live in silence.
Silent, humble, breathing with conscience.
They do not speak, they do not shout; they are in their own work, on their own path.
In fact, this silence is the cry of their truth.
We saw a man of God, merciful, calm, pure, with love in his gaze and prayer on his path.
We saw a statesman, patient, brave, bearing the burden of the people on his shoulders; he is the breath of the nation.
Then we saw Ramiz Mehdiyev's people; in reality, they are chair maniacs, power drunkards, masters of intrigue. They cannot be people of this nation, of this state.
Life is strange.
Sometimes it happens that you think lies bury the truth.
But time comes, and truth sprouts from beneath the soil, takes root, and blossoms.
For several days, Ramiz Mehdiyev's antics have entered the agenda like dirt.
Even at this age, with his actions, he still consumes the people's time and plays on their nerves.
Whereas people could have spent this time on productive work.
He disrupts the life of the people, while thoroughly polluting his own life.
The names of those who were around him in his time are also being mentioned.
It must be emphasized here that sometimes, in such moments, the innocent are burned along with the guilty.
Society's eyes see, and its ears hear.
Now, those who were once in his circle – “Mehdiyev's people” – are protesting.
But what are you protesting? The truth? Time? Justice?
So, what were you expecting?
You might not have been Mehdiyev's person in your time. But you were, and you enjoyed it.
You could have been a man of God.
You could have been a statesman.
You were not.
Now you are ashamed, you are adopting a new guise, but the mirror of conscience shows the inside, not the skin.
Being a man of God is difficult.
Because there are no lies there.
Being a statesman is heavy.
Because there is responsibility there.
Being Ramiz Mehdiyev's person is easy.
Because there is flattery, intrigue, backstabbing, betrayal, and pleasure there.
Speaking of God, let me leave one and move to another.
Have you ever seen an 80-90-year-old grandfather holding the hands of his grandchildren and walking them around outside?
That scene is the laughter of life, the face of happiness, isn't it...
But have you seen someone clinging to a chair at 90 years old?
That scene is a tragedy.
That scene paints a picture of arrogance, fear, and ego.
God gives a person one life, and every life has a stopping point.
If you do not realize when to stop, life will stop you.
If you cling to the chair, life will consume you.
This is the law of nature.
Ramiz Mehdiyev's life is a living lesson in the violation of this law.
You can be a scholar, an official, a deputy.
But one day, you must stop.
If you do not stop, nature will stop you and show its face in the most bitter way.
Both the early years of your life and now will come back to haunt you.
Ramiz Mehdiyev's life is a living lesson of this.
Being a man of God is not measured by prayer or fasting.
It is measured by sincerity, conscience, and fairness.
If you are involved in intrigue, one day you will become its victim.
Perhaps not you, but your children will be.
If you betray, you will pay the price.
If you dig a pit, one day you will fall into that pit yourself.
Be sure of this...
Life's justice comes late, but when it comes, it erases everything.
Let's not stray from the point.
They should not have been Mehdiyev's people then; they should have been people of the state.
Being a statesman means enduring deprivations, living humbly, but keeping one's head held high.
Being a person of the state means benefiting not from the state's dominion, but from its spirit.
Being a man of God and a statesman means being a person of Azerbaijan.
A person of Azerbaijan has never been a person of Ramiz Mehdiyev.
He has been a person of the Motherland.
Being a person of the Motherland means silencing one's ego, thinking of one's people.
Being a person of the Motherland means feeling the weight of responsibility, not the taste of power.
Being a statesman means carrying the burden of the people.
Being Ramiz Mehdiyev's person means climbing onto the people's shoulders.
This is the difference.
This nation has seen many things.
It has seen both lies and betrayal.
But this nation has never forgotten the man of God, the statesman.
A man of God speaks little, thinks much.
Ramiz Mehdiyev's person speaks much, but there is no morality in a single one of his sentences. Because he is undignified.
The man who spoke of the nation from the academic podium is now poisoning the nation's thinking.
This is a tragedy; if a dark intention is hidden beneath white hair, that whiteness is an example of unworthiness.
Ramiz Mehdiyev's person is the headache of the nation.
Sometimes we say we are forgetful, but our memory has always been awake.
When memory opens its eyes, it brings justice.
Nothing is forgotten under God.
Ramiz Mehdiyev is lost in his own shadow.
Now that shadow is consuming its owner.
Because a shadow cannot live without the Sun.
A man of God is the Sun, giving warmth.
A statesman is fire, radiating light.
Ramiz Mehdiyev's person is smoke, burning the eyes.
This country saw much smoke.
But each time the Sun rose, the smoke dispersed.
The light remained.
Now let everyone look at Mehdiyev's fate and take a lesson.
Because a person's life can be long, but a meaningless life is the greatest punishment for one who understands.
This country now needs men of God, statesmen, people of Azerbaijan.
People of the Motherland are needed.
People who love their nation are needed.
People who protect their state and nation, live with prayer, and work with action are needed.
And let us not forget...
There will always be people like Ramiz Mehdiyev.
But we must live in such a way that the spirit of “Mehdiyevism” dies and is never repeated.
In history, the man of God, the statesman, the person of Azerbaijan will remain.
Therefore, be a man of God. Be a statesman. Be a person of Azerbaijan.
Be a person of Ilham Aliyev, who dissipates the smoke of those like Ramiz Mehdiyev and increases the light of the people.
Being a person of Ilham Aliyev means loyalty to the Motherland, service to the state, and faith in God.
And finally,
Being a man of God means breathing with conscience.
Being a statesman is service to the nation.
And being a person of Azerbaijan means being one with history.
However, being a person like Ramiz Mehdiyev means walking in the shadow, disappearing in the light.
This nation does not want shadow.
This nation wants light.
This nation wants a man of God.
It wants a statesman.
It wants a person of Azerbaijan.
