The 87-year-old academic, as a full member of ANAS, has been receiving a monthly scientific rank salary of 2000 manats from the state since 2018.
According to Modern.az, Ramiz Mehdiyev is a member of another scientific organization. Thus, he has held the status of a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) since 2022. His name has also been published on the website of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Mehdiyev is an academician of philosophy in the Social Sciences Department of RAS.
It should be noted that Ramiz Mehdiyev is known as a pro-Russian figure. Mehdiyev, accused of attempting a coup d'état in Azerbaijan, was reportedly relying on Russia to carry out his treason.
