These days, each of us feels and observes the lengthening of nights and the shortening of days. This is a miracle of nature that has continued for centuries, never changing, yet always affecting one's mood.
The current autumn season began in Azerbaijan on September 22. There are 22-23 days left until the end of autumn.
This year, the winter season will begin in Azerbaijan on December 21 at 19:03:01, marking the start of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and summer in the Southern Hemisphere. On December 21, when winter begins, the Earth's axis of rotation forms the largest angle with the direction of the Sun, or the Sun is at its minimum height (26⁰.2) above the horizon at noon on that day. That day marks the shortest day (day length 9 hours 17 minutes 22 seconds) and the longest night (night length 14 hours 42 minutes 38 seconds). The duration of the winter season will be 88 days 23 hours 42 minutes 52 seconds.
