The number of countries to which the Ministry of Defense Industry exports weapons and military equipment reaches 20.

Sales are primarily conducted through products that are easy to use and intensively manufactured. In particular, the production of small-caliber firearms comes to the forefront.

Military expert Ramil Mammadli told Modern.az that, in addition, large-caliber weapons, both small and large-caliber shells, as well as cannon and artillery shells are produced in overall productivity. The defense industry also produces unmanned vehicles, targeting devices, and other technical equipment:

"Today, the Azerbaijani Defense Industry Complex is not limited to production enterprises under the Ministry of Defense Industry. Companies represented in the private sector have also been involved in production. The activities of these companies make a significant contribution to the development and expansion of the defense industry.

Regarding the export geography, Azerbaijani defense industry products are mainly sold to countries in America, Asia, and Africa.

There is significant demand for Azerbaijani-made products in the international market. In some cases, due to the large number of orders, it becomes difficult to fully meet this demand, and waiting periods arise.

At the current stage, considering military-political factors, Azerbaijan does not cooperate with some countries in the field of arms sales. For this reason, although there is potential for the number of exporting countries, certain restrictions are maintained.

Over the next 5 years, both the range of products manufactured and the number of exporting countries are projected to increase.

The USA has been among the countries purchasing Azerbaijani defense industry products for many years, and this cooperation continues in various directions".

According to the expert, the production of new products in the defense industry is planned.

"Financial resources have been allocated in this direction by presidential decree. The funding will primarily be directed towards the production of defense industry products with high market demand and infrastructure.

The testing phase of finished products sold is carried out both in Azerbaijan and in the purchasing countries.

Foreign partners come to Azerbaijan to participate in the testing process, and at the same time, the products are subsequently tested in their own countries".

Ramil Mammadli noted that the next defense industry exhibition will be held in September this year. The ADEX (Azerbaijan Defense Exhibition) exhibition will be organized in the traditional manner - at the Baku Expo Center.
