During the 11 months of 2025, a total of 21,568 administrative decisions were made by the State Migration Service regarding violations of migration legislation.
This information was provided by the State Migration Service in response to an inquiry from Modern.az.
It was stated that foreign citizens and stateless persons who violate the requirements of migration legislation and fail to comply with the rules of stay and residence in the country are identified, brought to administrative responsibility, and their legalization of residence in the country, voluntary departure from the country, or administrative expulsion are ensured.
“When facts discovered during measures taken by the State Migration Service against irregular migration show signs of criminal acts (organization of illegal migration, document forgery, fraud, human trafficking, etc.), relevant materials are sent to the appropriate law enforcement agencies for legal assessment of the matter,” the official statement reads.
Furthermore, according to migration legislation, the costs for the expulsion of foreign citizens and stateless persons from the country are borne by themselves. If these persons do not have the means for their expulsion, such costs are covered by the individuals, departments, enterprises, and organizations that received them, or, in the absence of a receiving party, by the relevant executive authority.
