President Ilham Aliyev expressed his views on the country's life, international politics, and social issues in an interview given to local television channels on January 5. In his interview, the head of state touched upon domestic issues, discussing social policy, the improvement of the governance system, and optimization measures.
The President openly expressed his criticisms regarding the activities of officials.
"I have also established an institute of special representatives in Nakhchivan. However, unfortunately, the personnel I appointed there did not live up to my trust and was therefore dismissed from his post. Recently, an executive head was appointed to one of Baku's districts. Moreover, in that appointment in November, several executive heads were appointed as a group. My instructions and words regarding attention to people, not harming businesspeople, fighting bribery and corruption, and social justice have been published in the press. But I dismissed one of the people I appointed after one month. That is, this greatly disappoints me. Because, as you know, I have been in this position for 22 years now, and during these years, I have appointed many personnel to positions and shown them trust. Each time a new executive head is appointed, I either have meetings or phone conversations with them. Some of these are broadcast on television and in the press, some are not, and my recommendations also do not change much. What is also disappointing is that, unfortunately, there are those among young personnel who commit violations," the President said.
Modern.az contacted the deputies of those regions regarding Fuad Najafli, the dismissed authorized representative of Nakhchivan, and Elkhan Ibrahimov, who was removed from the post of executive head of Nasimi district.
In a statement to our website, Ülviyyə Həmzəyeva, a deputy elected from the 5th Babek-Nakhchivan-Julfa constituency of the Milli Majlis, stated that during Fuad Najafli's tenure, appeals related to him were received from voters:
“As a deputy, my main duty is to listen to the appeals of my constituents, convey their daily problems to the relevant institutions, and support their resolution. In this context, at certain times, appeals were received from voters regarding insufficient coordination in governance, inefficient establishment of mutual relations with local structures, and delays in the implementation of some decisions.
Every official is accountable for their activities, and as Mr. President emphasized, state trust is the greatest responsibility. Whether one lives up to this trust or not is measured solely by results. Our main goal is to preserve Nakhchivan's development dynamics, improve people's social welfare, ensure the sustainability of infrastructure projects, and further strengthen the region's strategic importance”.

Ü.Həmzəyeva emphasized her belief that reforms and new appointments will increase flexibility in the governance process:
“The priority for our state is the sustainable development of Nakhchivan, the effective implementation of state policy in the region, and transparency in governance. I believe that the reforms undertaken and new appointments will increase flexibility in the governance process, positively impacting the prompt resolution of existing problems and the faster development of the region”.

Asim Mollazadə, a member elected from the 22nd Nasimi - Yasamal constituency of the Milli Majlis, stated that Elkhan Ibrahimov, the head of the Nasimi District Executive Authority, did not work even for 1 month and that he had not seen his face:
“I also do not have detailed information. The President has detailed information. The President removes officials from their posts because they did not live up to his trust. The head of state always demands honesty from officials. When this demand is not met, the President punishes officials. Since I do not have information, I cannot comment on this matter. He did not work even for 1 month; I have not seen him. Therefore, I cannot say anything”.
