A person recruited by foreign special services for secret cooperation has been exposed.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the information provided by the Press Service of the State Security Service.
According to the information, during the operational-investigative measures continued by the State Security Service aimed at detecting and preventing the intelligence-subversive activities of foreign special services directed against the national security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, reasonable suspicions arose that Fərzəliyev Siyafət Heydər oğlu, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, born in 1969, committed treason.
Investigations revealed that Siyafət Fərzəliyev, a resident of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, while in a foreign country, was recruited for secret cooperation by representatives of that state's special service in exchange for material gain, and after returning to the country, on their instructions, he carried out video recordings of military and other strategically important objects located in Nakhchivan city and Shahbuz district and presented them to representatives of the foreign special service.
Furthermore, during a search of the apartment where the aforementioned person resided, individual parts of a “Kalashnikov” type automatic weapon were discovered and seized.
Siyafət Fərzəliyev was brought to justice under Articles 228.1 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of firearms, their components, ammunition, explosives, and devices) and 274 (treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and by court decision, a pre-trial detention measure was chosen against him.
Currently, investigative-operational measures on the criminal case are ongoing.
