President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the opening of the Tartar Electromechanical Plant after its reconstruction on January 13.
Modern.az reports that the head of our state first laid a bouquet of flowers in front of the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the plant's courtyard.
Minister of Defense Industry Vugar Mustafayev informed the head of our state about the conditions created at the enterprise.
It was stated that the plant was established in 1976 as the Tartar branch of the Lionozovo Electromechanical Plant. The plant, which began operations in April 1977, produced electrotechnical industry products and special-purpose products. In its early years, “Tachometer-Speedometer” products for motorboats were manufactured here.
National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who laid the foundation of the plant, participated in its official opening ceremony in 1978.
In accordance with the Decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev in 2005, the Ministry of Defense Industry was established, and the Tartar Electromechanical Plant was placed under the ministry's subordination.
Modern, high-precision technological equipment acquired from several advanced countries has been installed at the enterprise, which will produce various types of military-purpose products. The design of technological lines, the establishment of production flows, and adaptation to serial production were carried out by local specialists of “Azersilah” Defense Industry Holding” CJSC. Currently, the adaptation of production processes to national military-technical norms and international quality standards is being implemented. For this purpose, a quality control laboratory has been established.
Large-scale construction and reconstruction works have been carried out on the plant's territory, and new production buildings and areas, as well as auxiliary buildings, have been put into operation. Reconstruction works have been carried out in existing structures, and special polygons for ballistic and resource tests have been created in accordance with the requirements of the technological process.
It should be noted that the President of Azerbaijan pays special attention to the development of the defense industry. In this area, local companies are being established, relations with foreign partners are being expanded, and the volume of production is increasing with the application of technologies that meet the most modern challenges. Last year, our country produced military-purpose products worth 1.4 billion manats, a part of which was directed to the arsenal of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, and another part for export. Currently, Azerbaijan exports military-purpose products to nearly 20 countries.
