In accordance with the bilateral agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the principles of humanism, 4 individuals serving sentences in our country, found guilty under various articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Khachatryan Vagif Cherkezi, Sujyan Gevorg Rubenovich, Davtyan David Tigrani, and Eulcekciyan Vigen Abraham - have been handed over to Armenia.
Although information about the objective reasons for this step has been disseminated, discussions on social media have put forward the possibility that individuals currently undergoing court proceedings will also eventually be handed over to Armenia.
Modern.az reports that, according to information obtained from APA's sources in power, there is no such possibility.
"These possibilities are an illusion. There is no possibility of releasing or handing over to Armenia the leaders of the junta and other individuals who have committed crimes against the Azerbaijani people" the source in power stated.
Another government official also firmly expressed the same opinion to the agency: "They will be held accountable for their criminal acts and will be punished in the most severe form once their guilt is proven".
