During 2025, adoptions related to 6 children were annulled.
Information on this matter was provided by the Social Services Agency in response to an inquiry from Modern.az.
The Agency stated that 1 of them was adopted after 2019, and 5 were children adopted before 2019.
It should be noted that the situation of an adopted child in the family is regularly monitored until the age of 18. Specifically, in the first year of adoption, quarterly, and in subsequent years, once a year, the child's adaptation to the family environment, and their intellectual, physical, and psychological development level are assessed. During monitoring conducted for adopted children, the relationships between the child and the family, and potential risk factors are evaluated. If a risk is identified, appropriate support measures are offered to the family. If these measures do not yield results, or if a real risk to the child's safety is determined, the issue of adoption annulment is considered.
Furthermore, the annulment of adoption is carried out only on the basis of a court decision.
