As a result of a visual technical inspection conducted by the Azerbaijan Research Institute of Construction and Architecture in the 9-story building of “Azerbaijan Publishing House” LLC, defects and damages were discovered in the main load-bearing structures, water-sewerage, and electrical lines due to the absence of major repair works during the long-term operation of the building. Furthermore, the technical condition of the elevators in the building is unsatisfactory.
In response to an inquiry from Modern.az, Azerbaijan Publishing House stated that during the repair period, editorial offices must temporarily find alternative offices. “Azerbaijan Publishing House” will endeavor to provide them with support in this matter to the extent possible.
"The current technical condition necessitates major repair works in the building. The extensive scope of these works makes their phased execution, as well as their implementation while the building remains in operation, practically impossible. Considering the aforementioned, a decision has been made to suspend the operation of the building starting from 01.02.2026. This refers solely to the repair of the 9-story building. “Azerbaijan Publishing House” LLC will continue its operations. The repair period will be determined based on the exact scope of work to be carried out, the preparation of project-estimate documentation, and the financing process. After the major repair is completed, the building will be recommissioned", the statement said.
