During 2025, over 694 thousand surgical operations were performed in state medical institutions under TƏBİB, in 9 scientific research institutes and centers of the Ministry of Health, as well as in medical institutions (private and those under relevant state bodies) that have a contract with the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance.
Information on this was provided by the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance in response to an inquiry from Modern.az.
It was reported that approximately 9000 of the operations were open-heart surgeries, 136 were cochlear implantations, 212 were brain aneurysm surgeries, 181 were organ transplantations, and 96 were arthroscopic operations.
Additionally, 103 of the organ transplantations were kidney, 58 were liver, and 20 were bone marrow transplantations.
It was noted that corneal transplantation, however, is not included in the Compulsory Medical Insurance Services Package.
