On January 19, a broad board meeting was held under the leadership of Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev, with the participation of employees of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Nakhchivan city, and other subordinate district prosecutor's offices, in video format, dedicated to the discussion of the state of work carried out and future tasks during 2025 in the fight against crime, participation in the administration of justice, supervision over the execution and application of laws, the protection of human rights and freedoms in criminal proceedings and proceedings outside criminal prosecution, and other areas defined by law.
Modern.az reports that Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Prosecutor Sanan Pashayev, speaking with a report, noted, referring to the work done and statistical indicators across areas of activity, that during the reporting period, the criminogenic situation in the Autonomous Republic was kept under control, public and political stability in our country was maintained in cooperation with internal affairs, state security, and other law enforcement agencies, and necessary measures were taken to strengthen the fight against crime.
It was stated that during 2025, preliminary investigations into 31 criminal cases were conducted by the prosecutor's offices of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the investigation of 17 of these criminal cases was completed and sent to the relevant courts for consideration. In both reporting periods, the crime detection rate for the prosecutor's offices of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was 100%.
Furthermore, it was noted that in 2025, 647 appeals received by the prosecutor's offices of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were duly reviewed, and a total of 653 citizens were received and heard, including 296 at the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Prosecutor's Office and 357 at subordinate district (city) prosecutor's offices, with explanations provided and appropriate measures taken towards their resolution in accordance with their appeals. Additionally, during the reporting period, numerous events related to the promotion of legislation were held by employees of the prosecutor's offices of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, including 36 appearances in the press and 42 on television.
During the broad board meeting, the state of work carried out and the achievements made in the implementation of future tasks, as well as shortcomings identified during official activities, were thoroughly discussed.
Kamran Aliyev, concluding the broad board meeting, gave necessary instructions regarding the improvement of official activities and the elimination of shortcomings identified during the reporting period, and finally expressed his confidence that every employee of the Autonomous Republic's Prosecutor's Offices would fully mobilize their knowledge and skills in the execution of their duties assigned by law during their future activities, and would duly fulfill their official obligations for the benefit of our state and people, wishing them success.
