Rare furniture belonging to the office of Azerbaijan's former leader Mir Jafar Baghirov has been put up for sale.
Modern.az reports that furniture, stated to have been used in Mir Jafar Baghirov's office, has been put up for sale. It is reported that the aforementioned furniture was manufactured in 1951 and only one piece of it was produced.
Our website's employees contacted the individuals who put the furniture up for sale. According to them, there is also a photograph depicting Mir Jafar Baghirov standing next to this furniture. It is noted that the furniture weighs more than 100 kilograms.
The selling price of the item has been set at 18,000 manats. Although the sellers initially considered offering the furniture to the Russian market, they ultimately decided to present it to Azerbaijani collectors.
According to information, this furniture was accidentally discovered in Baku. Details about its history were provided by other collectors. It is noted that the aforementioned furniture was also put up for sale approximately 10 years ago.
It should be recalled that Mir Jafar Baghirov served as the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan from 1933 to 1953, and as the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan SSR from April to August 1953. He also held positions in various years as the First Secretary of the Baku City Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the Azerbaijan SSR, and head of the Azerbaijan State Political Directorate and the Azerbaijan Extraordinary Commission.
