The snow currently falling in Lerik city and villages has exceeded 70 cm.
Regarding this, Habil Məlikov, Deputy Head of Lerik District Executive Power - Chairman of the Commission for Emergency Situations, told Modern.az.
The chairman of the commission stated that the snowfall is currently continuing:
"In our mountainous areas, the snow depth is more than 1 meter".
The deputy head of the executive power noted that there are no problems with the overall water and gas supply in the district, but there are difficulties with electricity supply:
"Restoration work is ongoing. Out of 162 settlements, power has been restored in 80. Regarding the situation with roads, the main highways are fully open. Road clearing work is continuing, and there are no serious problems with vehicle movement.
Currently, access to villages is partially possible, and roads are kept under control for the passage of emergency medical services and essential services".
