"Azerishig" OJSC has commented on the issue of approximately 80 villages in Lerik district remaining without electricity.
Modern.az reports that it was stated to oxu.az by the institution that the issue, in fact, is not as it seems.
It was noted in the statement that sufficiently intensive work is underway in Lerik, and the supply of electricity is being ensured:
"When 80 villages are mentioned, settlements in remote areas are meant. There are 5-10 houses in each village. Most of them are small villages. There are a total of 360 subscribers in 80 villages.
The center of Lerik is inaccessible. First, the roads must be opened for equipment to move. It is true that work is ongoing day and night, and electricity is being restored, but the snow is also intensifying. All responsibility does not rest solely with our institution. Trees have broken and fallen along the road. Those trees must be cut and removed. We do not have the authority to cut and remove those trees".
