For many years now, we have ceased any cooperation with the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

Modern.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev stated this on January 20 in Davos during an interview with “Euronews” television, commenting on Azerbaijan's constant criticism by the European Parliament.

Our head of state, stating “We no longer react to this”, said that this biased situation against our country is the result of the activities of special lobbying groups and special forces that cannot tolerate Azerbaijan's independent policy.

President Ilham Aliyev said:

“For many years now, we have ceased any cooperation with the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. We cooperate with the European Commission and are content with that.

I believe that at a time when Armenia itself highly values its relations with Azerbaijan, the European Parliament puts itself in a very strange position by accusing us of things we have never done, including being in an “aggressive stance” against Armenia.

In August last year, a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia was initialed at the White House. I hope that the members of the European Parliament will find the courage to reconsider their unfair positions against Azerbaijan”.
