On January 21, a broad operational meeting was held under the leadership of Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, First Class State Justice Advisor, by the prosecutor's offices of Baku city, dedicated to the discussion of the state of work carried out during 2025 in the areas of combating crime, investigative work, prosecutorial supervision, and the tasks ahead.
Modern.az reports that Baku City Prosecutor Elshan Abbasov, speaking at the meeting, provided information on the work carried out during the reporting period by the capital's prosecutor's offices, together with other law enforcement agencies, in the direction of combating crime, ensuring citizen satisfaction, and implementing the guiding instructions of the Prosecutor General.
It was noted that during 2025, a total of 14,104 criminal incidents were registered across the prosecutor's offices and internal affairs bodies of Baku city, and the clearance of 93.4% of them was ensured.
As a result of measures carried out by establishing mutual business relations with the internal affairs bodies of Baku city, all 39 intentional homicide crimes and 19 attempted intentional homicide crimes committed in 2025, as well as 2 intentional homicide crimes and 1 crime of inflicting grievous bodily harm resulting in death that remained unsolved from previous years, were cleared.
It was noted that, in total, during the reporting period, the preliminary investigation of 258 criminal cases was completed by the city's prosecutor's offices, of which 182 cases involving 212 individuals were sent to the relevant courts for consideration. Regarding criminal cases whose preliminary investigation was completed by the prosecutor's offices of Baku city, the payment of 8,243,898 manats, or 59.6%, of the total material damage amounting to 13,827,887 manats inflicted upon the state, individuals, and legal entities was ensured.
In the internal affairs bodies of the capital, the investigation of 5484 criminal cases was completed, and the referral of 4312 cases to the courts was ensured.
Demands against violations of service, executive, and labor discipline were increased, thus, a total of 6 employees of the city prosecutor's offices were subjected to disciplinary action, of whom 2 were dismissed from the prosecutor's offices, and 1 person was relieved of their position.
Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, analyzed the activities of each of the structural units of the city prosecutor's office and subordinate district prosecutor's offices, and gave specific instructions aimed at further increasing the efficiency of work in the areas of combating crime, investigative work, prosecutorial supervision, handling appeals, receiving citizens, and strengthening service, executive, and labor discipline.
