The cost of robotic surgical operations will be higher than traditional operations.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Eldar Ahmadov, Head of the Surgery and Transplantation Center and Deputy Director of Yeni Klinika, at a briefing on the first robotic surgical operation performed at Yeni Klinika.
According to him, any abdominal cavity operation can be performed using robotic surgery:
"Robotic surgery has been applied worldwide for 20–25 years. However, until today, that robot had not been brought to Azerbaijan because the sales company had not included our country in its list. As a result of the new robotic surgery company including Azerbaijan in its sales list, we now have the opportunity to perform these operations. Robotic surgical operations are contraindicated for individuals who have previously undergone numerous abdominal operations and have an oncological process."
He noted that the cost of robotic surgical operations will be higher compared to traditional operations. The reason for this is the high cost of the system, and from this perspective, a price difference is inevitable.
