Today, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov received Iran's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahid Jalalzadeh, who is on a visit to our country.
According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided to Modern.az, during the meeting, the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, the recent tensions in Iran, as well as regional issues were discussed.
Deputy Minister V. Jalalzadeh provided detailed information about the recent tensions and current situation in Iran. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, emphasized the importance we attach to stability in Iran and conveyed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during the recent events.
It was stated that in the development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, the importance of contacts and mutual visits between the Presidents of the two countries, as well as the existing political dialogue, and the discussion of issues of common interest contribute to the expansion of cooperation. The work of the State Commission on Cooperation in Economic, Trade, and Humanitarian Spheres between Azerbaijan and Iran was noted with satisfaction.
The parties, discussing the prospects for cooperation in the transport and communication sectors between the two countries, drew attention to the fact that a number of projects implemented by Azerbaijan and Iran, in particular, play an important role in the development of transport corridors passing through our region.
During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on other issues of mutual interest.
