“In accordance with the State Program for the Improvement of Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Surrounding Areas for 2025–2030”, the construction of the “Dərnəgül” electric depot has been continued after many years.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Anar Rzayev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), at a round table dedicated to the implementation of the State Program last year.
He noted that excavation of shafts has begun at two points, which is a key component of the line separation project in the area of the “28 May” station:
“At the same time, for the construction of a turning chamber after the “İçərişəhər” station, communications with relevant agencies in the area have been clarified, and the site has been prepared for construction work. Reconstruction work on the dead-end track of the “Həzi Aslanov” station has reached the next stage. Within the framework of the State Program, the construction of 10 new stations will be one of the largest expansion phases to be realized in a short period in the history of the Baku Metro. One of these stations is planned to be commissioned in 2026, and repair and construction work at the station named B4 project continued rapidly last year”. (APA)
