During the period of reconstruction and line separation carried out in the metro network, alternative bus routes will be organized to ensure uninterrupted passenger transportation.
Modern.az reports that Anar Rzayev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), stated this during a round table dedicated to the implementation of the "State Program for the Improvement of Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Surrounding Areas for 2025–2030" for the past year.
He noted that in some directions, passengers might need to make additional transfers and change transport, which could lead to congestion within the metro.
“If passenger flow is not regulated properly, congestion will occur within the metro, and it will not be possible to reduce the train interval. Therefore, we are implementing alternative transport solutions.”
A. Rzayev said that, according to calculations, a certain passenger flow is planned to be temporarily transported by buses:
“For this purpose, 11 temporary bus lines will be created. These routes will primarily provide connection along intensive directions such as "Nizami–28 May" and "Əcəmi–28 May". Buses will compensate for any potential limitations in metro operations.”(APA)
