A well-known businessman has been arrested for attempting to plant narcotics in the cars of a mother and son with whom he was in conflict, with the aim of having them arrested.
Modern.az reports that during the investigation of a criminal case conducted by the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, it was revealed that Tehran Latifov, director of "Azeri Cooperation" LLC operating in Shaki, a well-known and financially prominent figure in the region, intended to have Sevil Salimov and her son Vasif Salimov, with whom he was in conflict, arrested by presenting false evidence.
For this reason, he sent his acquaintances – Ilham Vahabli, Nijat Guliyev, and Gachay Mammadov – to Baku city to purchase a large quantity of the narcotic substance marijuana from Amir Mustafayev, a resident of Shuvalan settlement.
These individuals were supposed to bring the narcotic substance to Shaki city and place it in Vasif Salimov's car.
As a result of the opposing party's timely appeal to law enforcement agencies and investigations conducted by the Prosecutor General's Office, the actions of the accused individuals were proven.
Consequently, Tehran Latifov and others were detained.
They were charged under Articles 234.4.3, 234.4.1 (illegal trafficking of narcotic substances in large quantities), and 296.2 (when committed in connection with accusing a person of committing a serious or particularly serious crime, or creating artificial evidence for accusation) of the Criminal Code.
Based on the submission of the Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Binagadi District Court ordered the pre-trial detention of Tehran Latifov and others.("Report")
