On February 25, the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center was opened.
Modern.az reports that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, participated in the opening of the Center.
Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev informed the head of state about the conditions created at the center.
It was stated that the foundation of this center was laid in 1969 as the Lankaran Technical Vocational School. In 2018, the Lerik Vocational School and the Lankaran Vocational Lyceum were merged, and the Lankaran State Vocational Education Center was established on their basis. The Center has been operating as a Public Legal Entity since 2024.
At the center, which is equipped with modern infrastructure, training, sports, dormitory, culinary training blocks, a training-guest house, agricultural and workshop laboratories, a greenhouse, as well as car repair and CNC (computerized numerical control) workshops have been established. At the same time, informatics classrooms, modern classrooms, a military training room, a library, an assembly hall for 300 people, and a dining hall operate here. A dormitory building for 53 people has been constructed on the territory, and after reconstruction, the number of blocks has been increased to 7.
In the 2025/2026 academic year, 962 students are studying at the center in 55 groups across 42 specialties. 385 of them are women. The institution provides personnel training in tourism, agriculture, industry, services, IT technologies, and alternative energy.
After the new material and technical base was formed at the center, many modern specialties are taught, including technician for technical maintenance and repair of electric and hybrid vehicles, computer networks and network administration, technical operation of software-controlled industrial equipment, cybersecurity, programming in computer systems, construction and operation of buildings, and specialist and technician for installation and repair of power lines and solar panels.
Here, students are provided with knowledge at the levels of initial vocational, technical vocational, and higher technical vocational education. Currently, 138 people work at the center.
The Lankaran State Vocational Education Center closely cooperates with nearly 30 enterprises representing the state and private sectors in the field of personnel training. This cooperation includes joint personnel training with the private sector, involvement of specialists in teaching, production training, master classes, as well as the implementation of social and innovative projects.
