The normalization of Turkey–Armenia relations is directly linked to the normalization of Azerbaijan–Armenia relations.
Modern.az reports that Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), stated this in a declaration to journalists.
According to him, these processes are being carried out in parallel:
“We hope that all of this will develop very rapidly and the region's agenda will no longer be defined by conflicts, but by peace, prosperity, and development. From now on, we will focus more on the future.”
The TBMM committee chairman stated that within the framework of Armenia–Azerbaijan relations, both the transportation of wheat brought via Kazakhstan and Russia, and the commencement of trade relations, demonstrate Azerbaijan's self-confidence.
He noted that Azerbaijan has already begun to implement such an agreement practically in stages, even before the planned agreement is officially signed and legal obligations are incurred: “This is a very important indicator and demonstrates Azerbaijan's self-confidence.”
