On February 27, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia visited the “ASAN xidmət” center within the framework of his official visit to Azerbaijan.
Modern.az reports that Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, provided the guest with detailed information about the “ASAN xidmət” centers established on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev and the projects implemented in the field of innovations.
A presentation was made to the guest regarding various technological solutions applied in the activities of “ASAN xidmət” centers. It was brought to attention that more than 30 countries and international organizations have signed agreements for the export of ASAN, Azerbaijan's national brand, as an intellectual product. It was also emphasized that the United Nations recognizes the “ASAN xidmət” concept, which has become Azerbaijan's brand on an international level, as the best model and promotes it across four continents.
The Prime Minister also familiarized himself with the activities of Mobile ASAN service. Appreciating the Mobile ASAN service project, which plays a significant role in ensuring citizens' access to public services, he noted that this experience would also be implemented in Ethiopia in the near future.
The guest was also provided with detailed information regarding the activities of the “INNOLAND” Incubation and Acceleration Center, the “Bilim Bakı” center, and the “ABAD” public legal entity.
It should be noted that as a result of cooperation carried out with the State Agency, in June 2025, the first “MESOB” public services center, based on Azerbaijan's “ASAN xidmət” concept, commenced operations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
It should be recalled that in May 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Agency and the relevant Ethiopian institution regarding the implementation of the “ASAN xidmət” experience in Ethiopia.
Within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding, trainings were conducted by the State Agency for civil servants from Ethiopia, a unified standard for services was defined, and recommendation documents were formulated based on the technological solutions used in “ASAN xidmət” centers.
