On March 2, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with household waste transportation vehicles in the courtyard of the Baku Expo Center.
Modern.az reports that these vehicles, produced at the Ganja Automobile Plant by order of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, will be sent to various cities and regions of our country.
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Rashad Ismayilov and Khanlar Fatiyev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the “Ganja Automobile Plant” Production Association, informed the head of our state about the project.
It was reported that, in total, 70 communal vehicles, each with a capacity of 22 cubic meters, have been produced within the framework of the project. The communal vehicles are planned to be dispatched from two assembly points – from in front of the Expo Center in Baku city and from the courtyard of the automobile plant in Ganja city – to 58 cities and regions of Azerbaijan.
In Azerbaijan, alongside the capital Baku, projects aimed at the development of our regions, the creation of modern social infrastructure there, including parks, green spaces, and forest belts, and thereby the overall improvement of our country's ecological situation, are consistently continued. From this perspective, the dispatch of household waste transportation vehicles to our cities and regions combines several important factors. Firstly, this will contribute to improving the quality of communal services and enhancing the sanitary-hygienic conditions in the regions. Thus, modern new vehicles will ensure the timely and efficient transportation of household waste and the higher quality execution of cleaning works in settlements. Furthermore, the project plays a significant role in terms of environmental protection. Another important aspect of the project is that these vehicles are locally produced. In total, to date, the Ganja Automobile Plant has produced a large number of tractors, combines, other agricultural machinery, passenger and cargo vehicles, and other equipment.
It should be noted that the foundation of the Ganja Automobile Plant was laid in 1986 on the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. In 2004, this production enterprise began its operations by order of President Ilham Aliyev. Currently, approximately 500 employees work at the plant.
