Since the start of military operations by the US and Israel against Iran, the number of evacuated Azerbaijani citizens has been announced.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in response to an inquiry from Modern.az, stated that so far 100 Azerbaijani citizens have entered Azerbaijan from Iran by crossing the border via land.
It should be recalled that, starting from February 28, in a joint military operation by the US and Israel, air strikes were carried out against several cities, including Iran's capital Tehran. In these attacks, it was officially confirmed that Iran's supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. At the same time, it is reported that several high-ranking military and government officials were also killed. The Iranian side has declared 40 days of mourning in the country, and this death has further increased political tension in the region.
