In Azerbaijan, the number of children born out of wedlock is decreasing.
In response to an inquiry from Modern.az, the Ministry of Justice stated that during 2025, 11 min 558 children were born out of wedlock. This indicates that, on average, 32 children are born outside of official marriage each day.
For comparison, it should be noted that in 2024, 13 228 children were born out of wedlock in Azerbaijan. In 2023, this indicator was 15 622, and in 2022, it was 18 814.
