Nakhchivan Airport has been targeted by a drone strike. One of the drones fell near a school in Nakhchivan. As a result of the attack, 2 civilians were injured. The Ministry of Defense issued an official statement, declaring that Iran's attack would not go unanswered.
Fazil Mustafa, commenting on the matter to Modern.az, stated that this issue must be thoroughly investigated:
“There is now a chaotic situation in Iran. Central control has broken down, and the targeting of Tehran by US-Israeli forces, along with the destruction of important state facilities, no longer allows one to say where or by whom the country is being governed.”
The deputy stated that, in all cases, Iran's attack was carried out purposefully:
“Iran's deliberate attack on Azerbaijani territory with drones is a higher probability because its strategy regarding recent events is precisely this. Iran is pursuing a policy of engulfing neighboring states in flames. Even if there were an opportunity to change the situation at the last moment, they demonstrate fanatic religiosity, revealing their intention to drag the region into suicide. Such is the fate of states governed by a mullah mentality.”
After an official response from Iran, we must speak with our allies:
“A mentality that seeks to sacrifice people to ideology is eager to set the entire region ablaze. This might be an accident against one country, but directing missiles against all Arab countries, and simultaneously against Turkey, followed by drones towards Nakhchivan, is by no means an accident. Therefore, we must take our steps in consultation with our allies. First and foremost, we must await potential responses from Iran. Because there must be a response to this, the purpose for which it was done must be investigated, and as a result, the steps we can take will be precise” - he noted in conclusion.
