The State of Qatar strongly condemns the strikes carried out by Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan airport.
Modern.az reports this, citing the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
The statement noted that the State of Qatar strongly condemns the attempt to strike the brotherly Republic of Turkey with a ballistic missile and the strikes carried out by Iranian UAVs on the airport in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
"Such hostile actions constitute a dangerous escalation and a gross violation of the sovereignty of states, as well as a direct threat to the security and stability of the region," the document stated.
The Qatari MFA also declared that the Islamic Republic of Iran's continued opening of new fronts and expansion of tensions in relations with neighboring countries is extremely dangerous, and calls for an immediate halt to this irresponsible policy that undermines the security and stability of the region, and for prioritizing the interests of the peoples of the region by adhering to the principles of good neighborliness and international law.
"The Ministry emphasizes the full solidarity of the State of Qatar with brotherly Turkey and Azerbaijan, as well as its support for all measures they undertake to protect their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity," the statement said.
