The battles that took place on the front line in April 2016 were etched in memory also by the heroism displayed by our brave sons. In those days, along with the great courage shown by the Azerbaijani soldier to protect the homeland's soil, many heights were also liberated from occupation. Unfortunately, behind these victories were also our sons who sacrificed their lives for the homeland. One of our heroes who gave his life for the homeland while performing a combat mission during that period was National Hero Pəncəli Nurməmməd oğlu Teymurov .
The Modern.az website dedicates this presentation of the “Last photo remaining from the martyr” rubric to the brave warrant officer.
According to the martyr's mother, Vahimə Teymurova, this photo we present is Pəncəli Teymurov's last photo.
Ms. Vahimə says that they later obtained photos of her son during his service from his military comrades.
“We never saw Pəncəli at home. For him to come home, stay for one, two, or three days, and rest, no. For 17 years, I waited for him, hoping that someday Pəncəli would retire, walk through the door, come and sit with us to our heart's content, and we would talk. But this was not destined for him, nor for us… As a martyr's mother, I never heard anything from Pəncəli. Frankly, I didn't know about many of the things my son did before. I knew he was a soldier, but I didn't know what he did or where he served. He wouldn't tell us these things when he was alive. We also obtained some of his photos later from his military comrades. I got to know my son Pəncəli after he became a martyr…”
Mother Vahimə says that she later learned that her son had done many things for Azerbaijan, the Homeland, and its land:
“He had gone to Turkey several times. He had completed a course there. He participated in parachute jumping competitions and took first place among the participants. He was awarded diplomas and certificates in Turkey. They even presented him with the "Golden Flag" medal. We learned most of these things later.
When he went to Turkey, he would always keep in touch and talk from there. But when the April battles began, no matter how much I tried, he didn't speak to me. Later – on April 10 – we learned that he had become a martyr on the night of April 2-3. On the 11th, his p was brought. We didn't hear many things about my son from his own lips. We learned them later from his friends and comrades-in-arms…”
Pəncəli Teymurov was born on March 24, 1981, in the village of Əzərüd, Astara district. From 1986 to 1998, he studied at the B. Rüstəmov Asxanakəran full secondary school in Astara district. In 1999, he was called up for active military service. After completing his service, he voluntarily continued his service in the reconnaissance-sabotage battalion of the newly established Azerbaijani Special Forces and served in the army for 17 years.
Warrant Officer Pəncəli Teymurov participated in the battles in the direction of Tartar during the April 2016 battles, fighting alongside Murad Mirzəyev, Samid İmanov, and Mühüd Orucov for the recapture of the Talış heights. He became a martyr on April 3, 2016.
By order of President Ilham Aliyev, Warrant Officer Pəncəli Teymurov was posthumously awarded the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan.
In addition, he was awarded various medals and prizes during his military service. He was buried on April 11, 2016, in the village of Əzərüd, Astara district, where he was born.
