After the end of the 2020 Patriotic War, 419 Azerbaijanis became mine victims. Of them, 72 died and 347 were seriously injured.
Modern.az reports that this was noted in the MFA's “X” account post regarding the mine incident that occurred yesterday in Khojavand.
It was stated that Azerbaijan is committed to demining efforts to ensure the safe and sustainable return of Azerbaijani citizens to the liberated territories and expects international partners to provide support with mobilized efforts.
“Mines continue to pose a serious threat to the lives of civilians and hinder the safe return of former internally displaced persons, as well as ongoing reconstruction efforts,” it was added.
