Military personnel of the Internal Troops may enter vehicles when there is a necessity to save human lives, and when performing duties to protect public safety and order during emergencies and mass riots.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the draft law “On the Internal Troops of the Republic of Azerbaijan” discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Defense, Security, and Anti-Corruption.
Furthermore, military personnel of the Internal Troops may enter vehicles when persons who have committed a crime or are suspected of committing a crime are detained, when crimes are prevented, when information about a terrorist threat is received, and when the consequences of emergencies are eliminated.
It should be noted that in connection with the fact of entering a vehicle, a military serviceman of the internal troops immediately informs his senior officer and the local police authority.
The fact of entering a vehicle without the owner's knowledge or against their will must be immediately documented in the manner prescribed by law and registered with the relevant police authority.
