When Azerbaijan's embassy in Bahrain opens, the number of our diplomatic missions will be 93.

According to Modern.az, this was stated by MP Rizvan Nabiyev at the meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties held on September 10.

He noted that this is a great success for Azerbaijani diplomacy.

“Of these, 70 are embassies,  9 are consulates general, and 6 are permanent missions, while the others are embassy offices and so on. This demonstrates Azerbaijan's growing international prestige and intensifying diplomatic relations. Cooperation with states in the Arab world, members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Gulf Cooperation Council is particularly important. There is also successful cooperation with Bahrain in the parliamentary sphere. The chairmanship of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly will be given to Bahrain until 2026. At the same time, a meeting of the Economic and Sustainable Development Committee of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly will be held in Bahrain on October 14, and our participation there is also expected” – the MP stated.

He noted that the increase in the number of our diplomatic missions is an indicator of the Republic of Azerbaijan's growing prestige in the system of international relations and the value it places on bilateral relations: "By this indicator, we surpass some European states".
