In 2026, state debt service expenditures will amount to 2 billion 457.6 million manats.
According to Modern.az, this issue was reflected in the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026” discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship.
In the state budget for 2026, 2 billion 457.6 million manats are allocated for servicing state debts. This indicator is 58 million manats higher compared to 2025.
According to the draft, 1 billion 400 million manats of this amount will be directed towards servicing foreign state debt. Of this, 940 million manats will be spent for the repayment of the principal debt, and 460 million manats for the repayment of interest debt.
And 1 billion 57.6 million manats will be allocated for servicing domestic state debt. Of these funds, 137 million manats will be spent for the repayment of the principal debt, and 920.6 million manats for the repayment of interest debt.
According to the information, since the refinancing of principal debt payments due on the state bond portfolio at the end of 2025 and during 2026, as well as the closure of the budget deficit through borrowing are planned, an increase in interest expenses on state bonds is expected in the coming year.
