The Milli Majlis commission established regarding the European Parliament's resolution against Azerbaijan has prepared the text of a statement.
According to Modern.az, the chairman of the commission, Shahin Ismayilov, read the text of the statement at the parliament's session.
The text of the statement noted that the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan resolutely rejects the European Parliament's resolution dated December 18, 2025, and evaluates it as a biased document serving political purposes.
This document, prepared on the basis of false information and fabricated claims, attempts to politicize specific criminal acts, violates the rule of law, and constitutes a gross interference in Azerbaijan's internal affairs. It is clear that the European Parliament, which is unaware of or deliberately ignores Azerbaijani realities, once again demonstrates political hypocrisy by turning human rights issues into a tool for its hidden agenda and provocative intentions.
It was noted that the European Parliament, which remained indifferent to the occupation of Azerbaijani territories for over 30 years, the devastation of hundreds of our cities and villages, the destruction of our historical and cultural heritage, and the violated rights of over 1 million internally displaced persons, also approaches the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty as a result of the Patriotic War and anti-terror measures with bias.
Furthermore, the statement noted that during the COP29 event held in our country, the European Parliament was one of the institutions that played an active role in attacks against our country.
“Observations show that deputies voting for the majority of such resolutions are not informed about either the content or the legal basis of the document. This clearly demonstrates the extent to which European parliamentarism is in crisis and how far it has strayed from objectivity.
The Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan declares that this resolution has no legal force and is completely rejected by our country. Azerbaijan will continue its independent policy and will defend its position based on international law, human rights, and justice” – the statement said.
The text of the statement also noted that the European Parliament, by demonstrating approaches that are far from objective, superficial, and biased in certain processes, has turned into a platform where tendencies such as Islamophobia and hatred against Turks are openly expressed.
“The biased positions voiced against Azerbaijan, an integral part of the Islamic and Turkic world, are nothing more than deliberate attempts by certain circles operating in the European space to exert political pressure against our country”.
The text of the statement was adopted after being read.
