As in a number of European countries, the issue of transitioning to a flexible working schedule should be seriously considered. For example, in some countries, working hours start at 7:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM. Some sectors, by operating on Sundays, can accept more flexible citizen applications. Banks and other service sectors can be adapted to this model.
According to Modern.az, this was stated by MP Fazil Mustafa at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
The MP drew attention to the traffic congestion problem in the city.
In a report published recently, a civil servant stated: “I spend 8 hours at official work and 4 hours in traffic.” This is not just a personal inconvenience, but a serious problem that negatively affects overall work productivity and quality of life. People sometimes have to leave home 2 hours earlier to get to work and return home in the same amount of time. In this regard, I propose that if the time a citizen spends commuting to work exceeds 2 hours, they should be given the opportunity to leave work 1 hour earlier. This approach will lead to citizens arriving at work more energized, providing quality service, and generally increasing productivity in the public sector".
Fazil Mustafa added that the traffic congestion problem cannot be solved overnight.
"However, in parallel with improving bus movement, optimizing routes, and other transport measures, steps should be taken to alleviate the situation of those working in state institutions, with the aim of supporting people”.
