War invalids and families of martyrs from these fees ARE EXEMPTED

War invalids and martyrs' families are exempt from fees for documents related to property ownership registration.

Modern.az reports that this issue is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law "On State Duty," which was discussed at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.

Articles 6 of the Law "On the State Register of Immovable Property" and 26 of the Law "On State Duty" define the rates of state duty levied for the issuance of documents related to the state registration of ownership and other proprietary rights to immovable property.

This includes:

- issuance of extracts from the register, technical documents (passport and plan measurements) related to the state registration of rights to immovable property;

- carrying out land surveying works for the registration of rights over land plots;

- issuance of a certificate from the state register regarding the restriction (encumbrance) of rights over immovable property;

- state registration of mortgages;

- as well as other legal actions related to immovable property.

The proposed amendment provides for the exemption from state duty for these services and legal actions for socially vulnerable categories of the population – persons with disabilities determined in connection with war, the January 20 events, the performance of military service duties (including the performance of military service duties at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant), as well as persons who have received the status of a martyr's family.

The exemption is aimed at the social protection of persons belonging to the aforementioned categories.

After discussions, the amendment was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
