Changes will be made to the rules for determining part-time work for women and for retaining wages during medical examinations.

Modern.az reports that this issue is reflected in the amendment to the Labor Code discussed at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.

According to current legislation, at the request of pregnant women, women with a child under 14 years of age, or a child with a disability, as well as women caring for a sick family member based on a medical opinion, the employer must establish a part-time workday or part-time workweek for them, with wages paid proportionally to the time worked. In this case, the duration of the woman's daily or weekly working hours is determined by agreement of the parties.

According to the draft, the provision for paying them wages proportional to the time worked during a part-time workday or part-time workweek is abolished.

According to current legislation, on days when pregnant women and women with children under 3 years of age undergo dispensary and outpatient examinations for both themselves and their children in medical institutions, and when medical consultations are held, average wages are retained. To conduct such examinations, the employer must necessarily create the necessary conditions for pregnant women.

After discussions, the amendment was put to a vote and adopted in its third reading.
