Penalties for the negligent destruction of cultural property will be determined.
According to information from Modern.az, this is reflected in the draft law on amendments to the Criminal Code, which was discussed at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
According to the draft, violation of the rules for the protection, study, and use of cultural property protected by the state, as established by law, if it leads to their negligent destruction, shall be punishable by a fine in an amount up to twice the damage caused by the crime, or restriction of liberty for a period of up to two years, or imprisonment for the same period.
The draft was adopted in the third reading.
