Changes will be made to the provisions related to electronic cigarettes in the Tax Code.
According to Modern.az, this issue is reflected in the draft law on amendments to the Law “On Tobacco and Tobacco Products”, which was discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis.
According to current legislation, the following excise rates are applied to potable alcohol, beer, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and their substitutes, energy drinks, disposable electronic cigarettes, hookahs and their substitutes, and liquid for electronic cigarettes produced in the Republic of Azerbaijan:
- 2 manats for each unit of disposable electronic cigarettes, hookahs, and their substitutes;
- 100 manats for each liter of liquid for electronic cigarettes.
In the draft law, it is proposed to remove the provisions related to disposable electronic cigarettes and liquid for electronic cigarettes from the legislation.
The issue was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
